Song Quiz
This is an idea for a quick starter which tends to get the students engaged. Divide the students into small groups each with a mini whiteboard or scrap paper numbered 1-5. Play an excerpt of a song related to language you have been doing, e.g. if you have been doing colours, play “Yellow” by Coldplay, students must then write down the word correctly in the target language. See the attached document for ideas for lots of topics. For brighter students, getting them to think outside the box can be fun, e.g. can they identify the job “baker” from playing “Baker Street” by Gerry Rafferty? You will need to listen to the songs first to make sure you know when the key word appears.
