Here is something you could replicate in your school as long as you have a willing Art department! For an inter-house competition, students in the Art department had produced large murals of scientific themes to brighten up a long, unlovely corridor in the Science department. They looked amazing, so I asked that the next inter-house art competition be based on MFL. I had the concept of a landmark in silhouette which the Art teachers took and made into these amazing murals, getting the students (Years 7-11) to research the countries and decide on the smaller images. They had a day to create the whole thing. These have now been mounted on the outside wall of our main hall, so they are seen and admired on a daily basis.
