Art of speaking

This is by no means an original idea but I came back to it as I had to teach Art to my Year 12 as part of the new A level specification.  The game is easy: divide students into pairs.  One student has a picture which they must describe for the other to draw.  It’s good for Sixth Form as it highlights gaps in their basic vocabulary e.g. furniture, parts of the body.  I gave them a time limit of one minute so noone felt under pressure to produce a work of art!
