No prep paper game

This game requires nothing but scrap paper and some imagination.

Give the students pieces of scrap paper on which they must write target language words from the following categories:

  1. animals
  2. activities
  3. places

They should write one word per piece of paper, producing as many pieces of paper as they can.  These are then put into three category piles and each pile is shuffled and placed face down.

The first player takes one “card” from each of the piles.  Using yet more scrap paper, he/she draws a picture of that animal doing that activity in that place.  The rest of the players have to guess the sentence.  You can extend this into written work by handing out the finished masterpieces and getting the students to write the sentence.

This could be varied by using prepositions instead of activities.
