Musical Questions

I had a mixed ability Year 7 class coming up to a speaking assessment in German.  I wanted them to drill the key questions we had learnt and was running out of interesting ways to do this. As we had done Pass the Parcel, my mind turned to other party games and so Musical Questions was born! I wrote key questions on pieces of sugar paper (one question per piece of paper) and put the questions face down on the floor.  When the music stopped, the students had to stand on a piece of sugar paper.  This turned out to be a brilliant way of getting random groupings! Students could then turn over the paper and discuss how they would answer the question. Students were able to help each other. I removed a piece of sugar paper each time as you would remove a chair in musical chairs.
